Default Stop Fing up the Game

Guild wars has always had two separate game aspects. One aspect was populated by people who constantly pushed themselves to be better than the rest.

Why change the skills of the game to make PvE EASIER? Is it really that hard that you have to make it more of a game that any headless retard can button mash through? Things like Watch Yourself and passive defense of that sort is bad in general.

Why do people who play PvE complain when skills get balanced? A skill must be balanced compared to all the other skills out there and the amount of skill demanded from the player. By promoting skills that require low player skill, ANET is basically sending a message that it accepts that PvErs are retarded and need to have an easier time playing the game because they're too dumb to use skills that actually require player skill to use.

Instead of doing this quick fix thing to appease the unwashed idiots, ANET should focus on really balancing PvE, improving monster AI, etc a lot of which has significantly improved with GWEN.

As a player of both PvE and PvP, I feel that PvE should require the same level of skill and concentration to play as PvP. There is no reason to assume PvErs can't cope without having to rely on Overpowered builds and skills.

If a skill balance is good for the game in general, why not let it apply to the game as a whole? Just because monsters don't complain when they're being Gayed by overpowered PvE builds doesn't mean that the gaying isn't occurring. Allow PvE the same respect as PvP and make a skill the same for both. There is no reason that Edrain needs to be 20 second recharge in PvE if it shouldn't be 20 seconds in PvP or DA be 1 second. How does buffing skills like this in PvE really improve the game?

It makes them feel happier, not necessarily makes the game better. I don't think it does.

It doesn't. This game is going downhill.

Rant thread will probably be closed...

Yes, Anet have dumbed down the game alot. But this is most likely a good business decision from them as the majority of players are lazy, dumb morons.

It still sucks though.

I feel the changing of skills in PvE is made more so that the gameplay isn't so dull rather than necessarily making it easier.

That is to say, there are certain skills which are much more effective in PvP than they are for PvE. These skills are often regarded by most PvE players to be undesirable and replaced by the skills which are more effective in PvE aspects. (Fire nukers are way more common in PvE outposts than water hexers) What happens in the end is that majority of players end up using a certain number of skills effective for PvE and hundreds of other skills are simply sitting there without any real use.

If Anet buffs certain skills for PvE mode, it'll open up more possibilities for other builds, making PvE gameplay not as monotonous as it is now.

Contradiction right there. Good job.

The PvE "balancing" is making it alot easier. Ez mode = dull.

Right. That translates to "if anet buffs every skill to be on par with ursan, maybe pugs will use something else".

well, i agree, but they're testing stuff for GW2 i assume

so if a lot of PvE-ers now start whining about how easy it is and how Anet must think they're dumb f*cks that can't think builds through, maybe they'll change their minds.

Of course, that will never happen, as most PvE-ers just want MOAR SHINY ITAMZ, and the faster/easier they get them, the better.

It doesn't matter anyway, as long as Ursan is around, no amount of buffing will make the game any easier. Unless there is an autowin or godmode skill, though the new SF is pretty close to godmode.

Appeasing the idiot masses that like to blow shit up with a skill-free WIN button to get their ph4t lewts is just good business.

As for the people who actually care about the quality of the game... meh.
Gotta live with it, I guess.

Where have you been? News about seperate pve/pvp skills has been around since just before 9th May. You could of QQ sooner :O

Anyway, they did it because we, as a comunity, asked them too. They did it and as usual, we moan about them doing it even though we asked for it.

Having some people actually use others builds than SS and MM for necros, for example, doesn't equal being dull. They'll be mostly buffing skills most people don't give a shit about anyways, seeing all the builds people run nowadays really don't need any buffing.

It's not to make the game easier. It's to make it easier for them to balance it, making it better for us in the long run. All of those PvP skill nerfs really f**ked with PvE, and the very few PvE nerfs there have been kinda screwed up PvP as well.

There is a dev update thread;
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...0291435&page=8

and an update thread;
http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10291809

as it is.

Even if there weren't, this thread would still be closed for being a heavily abrasive rant which would draw far more flames than constructive responses.
